President Donald Trump has teased a national convention aimed at uniting Republicans prior to the 2026 midterms.
“The Republican Party is doing really well. Millions of people have joined us in our quest to MAKE AMERICA, GREAT AGAIN. We won every aspect of the Presidential Election and, based on the great success we are having, are poised to WIN BIG IN THE MIDTERMS,” Trump posted Thursday on his Truth Social platform.
Although Trump’s approval rating sits below 45%, according to Nate Silver, and the party in power historically loses congressional seats in midterm elections, even Democrat advisers are warning that the GOP could be “insulated” from any major losses.
