Mecole Hardman Returns To Chiefs Kingdom, And Frank Clark Could Be Right Behind Him!

Two players that have only been gone less than half a season may be back on the Kansas City Chiefs roster soon.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported via ESPN that the New York Jets will send Hardman and a seventh-round pick to KC in exchange for a sixth round pick. Both picks come from the 2025 draft.

After signing a one-year, $4 million free agent deal with the Jets this past offseason, Hardman caught one pass in five games played on only 28 total snaps. On the one hand, that’s more snaps than Aaron Rodgers has played; but on the other hand, the Jets preferred other players for punt returns and even the fourth wideout on the depth chart.

Hopefully Hardman’s return to KC injects some additional passing game chemistry and familiarity into the Chiefs offense for Patrick Mahomes. Rookie Rashee Rice is off to a solid start; but our trio of veterans (MVS, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore) combine for only mediocre stats about a third of the way through the season.

In other “wasn’t he just here?” Chiefs trade news, defensive end Frank Clark has been in and out of KC a few times since the Denver Broncos released him last week. Sports Illustrated reports he’s in town for a physical and could also be rejoining the Chiefs. Similar to Hardman, Clark spent less than half a season away from Chiefs Kingdom.
